de Zille Butler reunited with Aston Martin (Again!) - 25/8/09

After some time out of the drivers seat Ben will this weekend be back behind the wheel of the great British marque of Aston Martin. The last time Ben sat on the starter grid was at the opening round of this years Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Oulton Park in April. Ben will again be at the wheel of an Aston Martin, but this time the V8 Vantage GT4 of Nicholas Mee Racing.

The REFLEX (www.reflex-nutrition.co.uk) sponsored driver will be looking to make the most of his high fitness levels as he joins team regulars Christiaen Van Lanschot and David Clark in the Snetterton round of the Britcar Championship this weekend. The endurance series is now at round six of a closely fought season and the Nicholas Mee run Aston is hoping to retain its place at the top of the Aston Martin Cup class in this 4 hour race.

"I'm really looking forwrad to this weekend. Having been out of the seat for most of the season I am keen to get the most out of the race and help the team maintain their great run in the series so far. The team certainly seem to know what they are doing and the engineer (Craig) worked with me at Team Modena last year so hopefully we will be able to get the most from the car from the word go."

With no testing before the weekend Ben's first chance to experience the car will be in Saturday mornings qualifying session.

"Although we only get 30 minutes for all 3 drivers to qualify I am confidet of getting to grips with the car quite quickly as the last race I drove in was for Barwell-Beechdean in their N24 Aston. The main difference being that this car has manual gearbox as opposed to the paddleshifts I have been driving over the last couple of seasons, but that shouldn't cause too much of a problem. I'm jus going to go out and enjoy myself as always and hopefully the rest will take care of itself."

With Snetterton being Ben's local circuit he will be hopeful of some home support to spur him on and with the weather we have seen lately there is every chance of a good turnout.

Qualifying starts at 0940hrs on Saturday with the race getting underway later the same day at 1420hrs.
